April 28 - The Jackson County Republicans hosted a Taxpayer Forum at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center in Maquoketa on Sunday, April 27. The event began with a lunch and social hour, followed by speakers and a Q&A session which gave attendees an opportunity to ask the speakers questions.

The featured speaker was State Auditor David Vaudt, who talked about the Iowa budget. Other speakers were U.S Senate candidates George Eichhorn, Steve Rathje and Christopher Reed, Sen. David Hartsuch, State Central Committee Co-Chair Leon Mosley, Highway 30 Coalition Chair Edith Pfeffer, and Jackson County Supervisor Candidate David Kendell.
