Iverson Elected As Iowa GOP Chairman

January 27 - Stewart Iverson, former Republican leader of the Iowa Senate, has been elected State Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa.  He was chosen unanimously in a meeting of the state central committee in Des Moines Saturday, Jan. 27. Former Chairman Ray Hoffman stepped aside from the position  at the January 26th meeting, citing his desire to spend more time on his restaurant business in Sioux City.
